Richard B. Russell, Sr., lawyer, legislature, and jurist, was the only person to have served on both the Georgia Court of Appeals (1907 to 1916), and Supreme Court of Georgia (1922 to 1938); signed the register at the Riverview Hotel underneath Capt. Robert L. Russell, USN, San Francisco, CA in 1916, the first year the hotel was open.
