Sally, Ethel, and Semora ran the Riverview for many years. Sally purchased the hotel in 1928 for $8,000. Semora was the cashier at the local bank. Ethel had an antique store in the side yard. The ladies served family style dining not only to their guests but also to most of the local townspeople. Their southern hospitality was widely known. It was the hub of the town, and remains the heart of St. Marys today.
